FCSO CHARGES TWO WITH ATTEMPTING TO BRIBE WITNESS


SUBJECT: Latonya Ann Coles, age 35, of 215 Broadcast Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303 was arrested on April 21, 2020 and charged by FCSO Investigators with Criminal Conspiracy (S.C. Code Ann. 16-17-410) and Attempt to Bribe a Witness (S.C. Code Ann. 08-13-705). See FCSO Booking Website for additional information.

SUBJECT: Larry Junior Coles, age 36, of 300 Wallace Street, Lake City, SC 29560 was charged by FCSO Investigators with Criminal Conspiracy (S.C. Code Ann. 16-17-410) and Attempt to Bribe a Witness (S.C. Code 08-13-705). See FCSO Booking Website for additional information.

NARRATIVE: Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office have charged two subjects with conspiring and attempting to bribe a witness in a criminal case. According to Investigators, between the dates of March 12, 2020 and March 17, 2020 Latonya Ann Coles and Larry Junior Coles discussed among themselves via telephone and ultimately with the witness, wherein the witness was offered money not to testify in a criminal prosecution involving Larry Junior Coles. Larry Junior Coles is awaiting trial on a charge of Attempted Murder.

Under South Carolina law, Attempting to Bribe a Witness is a felony punishable by not more than 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
