FCSO DEPUTIES HONORED AT 12TH CIRCUIT LEN AWARDS LUNCHEON


Two Florence County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were recognized for their outstanding service at a 12th Judicial Circuit Law Enforcement Network/Circle Park Behavioral Health Services luncheon held on December 13, 2019 at the Florence Country Club.

FCSO Corporal Jason Plowden was awarded 12th Circuit LEN DUI Officer of the Year for 2019. During the LEN yearly reporting period, Corporal Plowden made 104 DUI arrests in Florence County, more than any other officer in the circuit. In addition, Corporal Sheldon Spann was named 12th Circuit LEN Officer of the Year for 2019. This award was based on his overall contribution to and support of LEN operations for the 12th Judicial Circuit. Cpl. Spann is assigned to the Proactive Community Enforcement Team (PACE) and is a member of FCSO SWAT. (See attached photo; left to right, Chief Deputy Glen Kirby, Cpl. The 12th Circuit LEN is comprised of all law enforcement agencies in Florence and Marion Counties including the 12th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, SC Highway Patrol and SC State Constables and is sponsored by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety. For the eighth year in a row, the Florence County Sheriff’s Office is the host agency for 12th Circuit LEN operations.
