SUSPECT IN VEHICLE THEFTS TO FACE ADDITIONAL CHARGES


Robert Eugene Hendricks, age 42, of 145 Park Street, Patrick, SC 29584, previously charged by Florence County Sheriff’s Office Investigators with Burglary (Second Degree)(S.C. Code Ann. 16-11-312) and Grand Larceny (S.C. Code Ann. 16-13-030(B)) will face additional charges in Florence County.

Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office have now charged Hendricks with two additional counts of burglary and Grand Larceny in connection with separate incidents in Timmonsville, SC. According to FCSO Investigators, on or about May 24, 2019 Hendricks is alleged to have entered an automobile dealership by force and without consent of the owner on East Smith Street, Timmonsville, SC and stolen a Honda Accord. Hendricks is further alleged to have later reentered the dealership and stolen a Nissan Murano.

On Monday Hendricks was charged with the weekend theft of two vehicles from a Florence automobile dealership. In that instance, Investigators allege that on or about June 1, 2019 Hendricks broke into the Kia of Florence dealership on East Palmetto Street in Florence, SC in the early morning hours and stole a Kia Sole as well as a number of vehicle keys. Later in the day, Hendricks is alleged to have returned to the dealership where he stole another vehicle, a Kia Sorento. Investigators recovered the stolen Sorento in Dillon County yesterday. The Sole was recovered late this afternoon in Florence County.

Hendricks was taken into custody early Monday morning near Hartsville, SC by Darlington County officials with the assistance of deputies assigned to the FCSO Special Operations Division Canine Tracking Team and the FCSO Aviation Unit. He is being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center in Darlington, SC.

At some point Hendricks will appear in Florence County for consideration of bond on the Florence County charges.
