FCSO IDENTIFIES/CHARGES SUSPECT IN VEHICLE THEFT

 

SUBJECT:     Robert Eugene Hendricks, age 42, of 145 Park Street, Patrick, SC 29584 was charged by Florence County Sheriff’s Office Investigators with Burglary (Second Degree)(S.C. Code Ann. 16-11-312) and Grand Larceny (S.C. Code Ann. 16-13-030(B)). 

NARRATIVE:     Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office have identified and charged a suspect in a vehicle theft reported on yesterday.  According to Investigators, Robert Eugene Hendricks has been charged with the weekend theft of two vehicles from a Florence automobile dealership.  Investigators allege that on or about June 1, 2019 Hendricks broke into the Kia of Florence dealership on East Palmetto Street in Florence, SC in the early morning hours and stole a Kia Sole as well as a number of vehicle keys.  Later in the day, Hendricks is alleged to have returned to the dealership where he stole another vehicle, a Kia Sorento.  Investigators have advised that the Sorento has been recovered in Dillon County.

Hendricks was taken into custody by Darlington County authorities yesterday morning with the assistance of deputies assigned to the FCSO Special Operations Division Canine Tracking Team and the FCSO Aviation Unit.  He is being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center in Darlington, SC.  At some point, Hendricks will appear in Florence County for consideration of bond on the Florence County charges.
