FCSO Traffic Safety Unit Conducts Traffic Safety Checkpoint
The Florence County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Unit conducted a Traffic Safety Checkpoint on Friday, January 11, 2019 at the intersection of West Ashby Road and Douglas Street in Florence County. During the operation, a total of 38 vehicles were encountered and the following charges were made:

7 officers participated in the Operation. A total of 5 arrests were made and one vehicle search yielded approximately 1 pound of marijuana.
The focus of the traffic safety checkpoints is the detection of impaired drivers and the prevention of alcohol related motor vehicle accidents. The FCSO Traffic Safety Unit will continue to conduct traffic safety checkpoints and other enforcement operations throughout the month of January, all with a view toward reducing fatal motor vehicle accidents.
