Mandatory evacuations ordered in the Black Creek/Quinby and Lynch’s River/Effingham areas of Florence County have been lifted for now due to the favorable changes in the forecast following former Hurricane Florence. Emergency Management will continue to monitor ongoing weather conditions and may reimpose the evacuation order if conditions warrant.

The county-wide 8:00 PM to 7:00AM curfew for non-emergency activities WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT this evening for the safety of citizens traveling on the roadways as many traffic control devices are not functioning due to power outages. Exceptions to the curfew include essential public safety/medical employees and essential industry staff.

Stay tuned to local weather and news outlets for updated weather reports and download the Florence County Sherrif’s Office free app for I-Phone and Android telephones for instant alerts.
