SUSPECT IN ATTEMPTED MURDER ARRESTED
SUBJECT: Kevin Robert Demont Washington, age 44, of 2106 Fernleaf Lane, Florence SC 29501 was arrested on July 18, 2018 and charged with Attempted Murder (S.C. Code Ann. 16-03-029), Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-440(B)), Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-490) and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-500(A)). See FCSO Booking Website for additional information.
NARRATIVE: Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force arrested Kevin Robert Demont Washington on July 18, 2018 and charged him with Attempted Murder, Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle, Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Felony and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Investigators allege that on or about June 27, 2018 Washington discharged a firearm multiple times into an occupied on vehicle near Ballpark Road, Effingham, SC. According to Investigators, Washington is alleged to have had a prior altercation with the victim, who was not injured during the incident.
Washington was taken into custody yesterday morning in the Lamar area of Darlington County by the U.S. Marshals Operation Intercept Task Force and transported to the Florence County Detention Center without incident. He is expected to appear before a Florence County Magistrate later today for a bond hearing.
