SUSPECT LEADS DEPUTIES ON VEHICLE PURSUIT
At approximately 12:39 PM today, a Florence County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop on North Cashua Street in Florence, SC for a moving violation when the driver of the vehicle refused to stop. The vehicle briefly came to a stop in a parking lot where a passenger alighted, after which the vehicle continued to flee from deputies. The pursuit continued into the Black Creek Road and TV Road area, where it ended after the suspect vehicle left the road and overturned several times. The suspect driver of the vehicle was ejected and has been transported by Florence County EMS to an area hospital for medical treatment. No further information on the condition of the suspect is available at this time.
Several FCSO vehicles were damaged during the pursuit, but no civilian vehicles were involved and no FCSO deputies were injured. The investigation into this matter is ongoing. As additional information is available, this release will be supplemented.
