FCSO MAKES ARREST IN MAYFAIR TERRACE SHOOTING
SUBJECT: Jamone Somaure Legette, age 19, of 1900 North Adair Drive, Florence, SC 29501was arrested by Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on June 27, 2018 who have charged him with three (3) counts of Attempted Murder (S.C. Code Ann. 16-3-029), two (2) counts of Discharging a Firearm Into a Vehicle (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-440(B)), Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-490) and Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Violent Felony (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-500(A)). See FCSO Booking Website for additional information.
NARRATIVE: Florence County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call of a shooting near the intersection of Mayfair Terrace and Second Loop Road at approximately 8:30 PM yesterday. According to Investigators, Jamone Somaure Legette is alleged to have fired multiple rounds from a firearm at a vehicle leaving a nearby apartment complex and striking the vehicle. No one in this vehicle was injured.
In addition, Investigators allege that the driver of a second vehicle traveling on Second Loop Road was struck by a bullet. This victim was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. No additional information on the condition of this victim is available at this time. A passenger in this vehicle was also struck by shattering glass, but did not require medical treatment. A third vehicle was possibly struck by a bullet while traveling near the location, but no injuries were reported.
Investigators took Legette into custody at the scene and have charged him with three counts of attempted murder, two counts of Discharging a Firearm Into a Vehicle, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Felony. Legette will be held at the Florence County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing.
