SUSPECT IN NEW HOPE ARMED ROBBERY IN CUSTODY
SUBJECT: Deion Levante Felder, age 23, of 559 ½ N. Old Georgetown Road, Lake City, SC 29560 was arrested by Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on May 16, 2018 and charged with one count of Attempted Murder (S.C. Code Ann. 16-03-029), Armed Robbery (S.C. Code Ann. 16-11-330(A) and Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime ( S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-490). NARRATIVE: FCSO Investigators have arrested a suspect in connection with the May 9, 2018 armed robbery of “Rob’s ABC” store located on U.S. Highway 52 in New Hope, SC. At approximately 7:00 PM that day a suspect entered the store with a handgun and demanded money from the clerk at gunpoint. After a brief struggle with the suspect the store clerk was shot. The struggle continued for a period of time after the gunshot, but eventually the suspect fled the scene. The store clerk was treated for a gunshot wound at an area hospital, but has since been released.
Investigators have now arrested Deion Levante Felder, age 23 of Lake City, SC in connection with the incident. According to Investigator, Felder is charged with Attempted Murder of the store clerk, Armed Robbery and Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime.
Felder is being held at the Florence County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing.
