SUSPECT IN WEEKEND MURDER IDENTIFIED
SUBJECT: Diondrea Emanuel Jackson, age 40, of 107 Maple Street, Florence, SC, 29506 was arrested by Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on May 6, 2018 and charged with one count of Murder (S.C. Code Ann. 16-03-010) and one count of Attempted Murder (S.C. Code Ann. 16-03-029). See FCSO Booking Website for additional details.
NARRATIVE: The suspect arrested in connection with the May 6, 2018 shooting incident in Coward, SC has been identified as Diondrea Emanuel Jackson of Maple Street in Florence, SC. According to FCSO Investigators, Jackson was arrested on May 6, 2018 and charged with one count of Murder and one count of Attempted Murder. Investigators allege that at approximately 1:30 AM on May 6, 2018 Jackson shot two victims at the Downbeat Club located on C.W. Robinson Road near Coward, SC. At the time he was taken into custody, Jackson also had an outstanding Family Court bench warrant for his arrest.
The deceased victim has been identified by the Florence County Coroner Keith Von Luctken as Malcolm Spates, age 23, of Olanta, SC. A second victim is receiving medical treatment for a gunshot wound at an area hospital.
Jackson is being held at the Florence County Detention Center pending a bond hearing before a Circuit Court Judge.
