Twelfth Circuit Law Enforcement Network Statistics


On April 14, 2018 the Twelfth Circuit Law Enforcement Network conducted numerous Traffic Safety Checkpoints in Florence County. The checkpoints were held at Old Georgetown Road and McCutcheon Road near Lake City, SC, Perkins Cross Roads Effingham, SC and Third Loop Road and Cashua Drive, Florence, SC. These locations were selected because of a high incidence of motor vehicle accidents and moving violations in the past. The operations lasted for approximately 4 hours. The following violations were noted on this occasion;

Disregarding Stop Signal 2
Driver’s License Violation 5
Driving Under Suspension 11
Driving Under the Influence 2

Operating Uninsured Vehicle 1
Turning Unlawfully 4
Vehicle License Violation 5
Possession of Marijuana 12
Possession of Crack Cocaine 1
Fugitive Arrests 3

The Twelfth Circuit Law Enforcement Network is comprised of all law enforcement agencies in Florence and Marion Counties, the Twelfth Circuit Solicitor’s Office and State Constables and is sponsored through the South Carolina Department of Public Safety. The purpose of the traffic safety checkpoints is the detection of impaired drivers. For the fifth year in a row Florence County Sheriff’s Office is the host agency for LEN operations in the two counties.
