FCSO MAKES ARRESTS IN EASTER MORNING SHOOTING


SUBJECT: Benjamin Jarvis Bethea, age 23, of 3613 Bass Lane, Timmonsville, SC 29161 was arrested by Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on April 7, 2018 and charged with one count of Attempted Murder (S.C. Code Ann. 16-3-029). See FCSO Booking Website for additional details.

SUBJECT: Marcus Denorris Parker, age 32, of 3612 Tater Lane, Timmonsville, SC 29161 was arrested by Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on April 6, 2018 and was charged with Accessory After the Fact of a Felony (S.C. SUBJECT: Anthony Tyrone Rogers, age 33, of 3621 Bass Lane, Timmonsville, SC 29161 was arrested by Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on April 6, 2018 and was charged with Accessory After the Fact of a Felony (S.C. Code Ann. 17-25-030). See FCSO Booking Website for additional details.

NARRATIVE: Florence County Sheriff’s Office and the Timmonsville Police Department arrested Benjamin Jarvis Bethea on Saturday, April 7, 2018 and charged him with attempted murder in connection with an April 1, 2018 shooting. According to Investigators, on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at approximately 2:00 AM FCSO deputies were called to a report of a fight in progress at 112 West Main Street, Timmonsville, SC. While enroute deputies were advised that gunshots had been fired at the location and there was a victim. Investigators have now charged Bethea with the shooting.

Investigators also arrested Anthony Tyrone Rogers and Marcus Denorris Parker on April 6, 2018 in connection with the incident, both of whom have been charged with Accessory Before the Fact of a Felony. Both Rogers and Parker were released on $10,000.00 surety bonds set by a Florence County Magistrate on April 7, 2018.

The victim continues to receive medical treatment for gunshot wounds at an area hospital. No further information on the condition of the victim is available at this time. Bethea was taken into custody Saturday on Southborough Road in Florence County without incident. He is being held at the Florence County Detention Center pending a bond hearing before a Circuit Court judge.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing and more arrests and charges are possible.
