A second West Florence High School student was arrested this afternoon and charge with bringing a weapon on school premises. Ashton Lee Rotan, age 18, of 615 McKeithan Road, Florence, SC is alleged by deputies to have been in possession of a knife which was located in vehicle parked on school premises (SC Code Ann. 16-23-430). Under SC law it is unlawful to possess a weapon on school premises including a knife, the blade of which is in excess of 2 inches.
Rotan will be held at the Florence County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
