FCSO MAKES ARREST FOR DISTURBING SCHOOLS

SUBJECT: Days’Yannie Aremony Gamble, age 17, of 344 Airport Circle, Lake City, SC 29560 was arrested by Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on February 21, 2018 and charged with Disturbing Schools (S.C. Code Ann. 16-17-420). See FCSO Booking Website for additional details.

NARRATIVE: Florence County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested a 17 year old Lake City High School student and charged her with Disturbing Schools earlier today. Responding to notification of a possible threat to Lake City High School on social media shortly after midnight on February 21, 2018, Investigators were able to track the post to Days’Yannie Aremony Gamble, age 17, of Lake City, SC. Investigators allege that Gamble made a threat that there would be a mass shooting at Lake City High School and also the Lake City Alternative School. Gamble is being held at the Florence County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing before a Florence County Magistrate.

Earlier this week, FCSO Investigators arrested another Lake City High School student who is a juvenile, for bringing a firearm on to school property. The investigation revealed that the firearm was located in the student’s vehicle, but was never part of an active threat to the school.

“We are investigating all threats to our schools as soon as they come to our attention and if the facts warrant, we will make charges whether the threats turn out to be real or not,” Chief Glen Kirby stated. “We will have a zero tolerance for all firearms brought on to school property. The safety and security of our children at school is our top priority.”
