12th Circuit LEN Conducts Traffic Safety Check Points

 

The 12th Circuit Law Enforcement Network conducted a traffic safety checkpoint on Friday, March 14, 2014 on South Ron McNair Boulevard, Lake City, SC (U.S. Highway 52) beginning at approximately 2:00 PM and concluding at approximately 5:00 PM.  The results of the checkpoint are as follows:

ABC Violation - 1
Changing Lanes Improperly - 4
Child Restraint Violation - 3
Seatbelt Violation - 1
Driver’s License Violation - 8
Driving Under Suspension - 5
Turning Unlawfully - 3
Vehicle License Violation - 3
Other Criminal Violations - 1

During the Operation, 1229 vehicles were encountered and 4 arrests were made.

The 12th Circuit Law Enforcement Network consists of all law enforcement agencies in Florence and Marion Counties, including state agencies and State Constables.  The focus of the traffic safety checkpoints is the prevention of motor vehicle accidents and the detection and enforcement of motor vehicle violations, including driving under the influence.  For the fourth year in a row, the Florence County Sheriff’s Office is the host agency for LEN operations, which is sponsored through the South Carolina Department of Public Safety.  Additional operations during the month of March are possible.
