FCSO IDENTIFIES SUSPECT IN FATAL LAKE CITY SHOOTING
Florence County Sheriff’s Office and the Florence County Coroner’s Office are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred on July 2, 2017 in Lake City, SC. Deputies were called to a report of a shooting with one victim which occurred on Salters Street at approximately 6:20 PM. According to Investigators, the victim was shot by the suspect on Salters Street and was subsequently driven by private vehicle toward Main Street in Lake City where a nearby ambulance was flagged down. The victim was then transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Florence County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased victim as 20 year old Devonte Hicks of Lake City, SC.
FCSO Investigators have obtained an arrest warrant for Ahmad Rasheek Nesbitt, age 18, of 307 South Ron McNair Boulevard, Lake City, SC in connection with the shooting. Nesbitt is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing approximately 170 pounds.
