FCSO MAKES ARRESTS IN WEEKEND SHOOTING


SUBJECT: Marquarus Quachan Da-Whan White, age 20, of 1026 Pitty Pat Drive, Florence, SC 29501-3394, was arrested by Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on May 24, 2017 and charged with one count of Murder (S.C. Code Ann. 16-03-010), one count of Attempted Murder (S.C. Code Ann. 16-03-029), three counts of Discharging a Firearm into a Vehicle (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-440(B)), Possession of a Weapon During Commission of a Violent Crime (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-490). See FCSO Booking Website for additional information.

SUBJECT: Tyquez Chamon Copper, age 22, of 1314 West Dixie Street, Florence, SC 29501 was arrested by Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on May 24, 2017 and charged with one count of Murder (S.C. Code Ann. 16-03-010), one count of Attempted Murder (S.C. Code Ann. 16-03-029), three counts of Discharging a Firearm into a Vehicle (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-440(B)), Possession of a Weapon During Commission of a Violent Crime (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-490). See FCSO Booking Website for additional information.

NARRATIVE: Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Marquarus Quachan Da-Whan White and Tyquez Chamon Cooper on May 24, 2017 in connection with the weekend shooting into an occupied vehicle traveling on Church Street in Florence, SC. According to Investigators, on or about May 20, 2017, White and Cooper are alleged to have discharged firearms into the vehicle resulting in gunshot wounds to two occupants. One occupant, Jaquaz Cooper of Florence, SC died as a result of gunshot wounds at an area hospital. The other injured occupant continues to receive medical treatment.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing and additional arrests and charges are likely.
