FCSO ARRESTS LARCENY SUSPECT
SUBJECT: Brent Alonzo Bacote, age 17, of 4730 Callie Young Road, Effingham, SC 29541 was arrested by Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on March 8, 2017 and charged with one count of Petit Larceny (S.C. NARRATIVE: Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office have arrested Brent Alonzo Bacote in connection with the February 28, 2017 bicycle theft which occurred on South Irby Street in Effingham, SC. On or about February 28, 2017 at approximately 3:20 PM, the juvenile victim rode his bicycle to the Dollar General Store located at 5305 South Irby Street in Effingham, SC, parked the bicycle outside and went into the store. Investigators allege that while the victim was inside the store Bacote removed the bicycle and left the scene in his vehicle. Store video surveillance captured the incident and images of the suspect, which were disseminated to the public by way of FCSO Press Release on March 6, 2017. The bicycle has been recovered and returned to the victim.
Bacote will likely appear sometime today before a Florence County Magistrate for a bond hearing.
