FCSO INVESTIGATES ALLEGATIONS AGAINST DEPUTY


SUBJECT: Jamil K. Hall, age 39, of 827 South Parker Drive, Florence, SC 29505 was arrested by Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office today and charged with Sexual Battery with a Student (S.C. Code Ann. 16-03-755(B)) and Misconduct in Office (S.C. Common Law; S.C. Code Ann. 17-25-030). See FCSO Booking Website for additional details.

NARRATIVE: Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a former FCSO deputy and school resource officer, Jamil K. Hall. Hall was arrested today and was charged with Sexual Battery with a Student and Misconduct in Office. Hall was placed on administrative leave without pay yesterday when allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student came to light. Hall’s employment with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office was terminated following an investigation into the allegations. According to Investigators, the conduct is alleged to have occurred on school grounds.

Under South Carolina law, Sexual Battery with a Student is a felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison. Misconduct in Office is a common law misdemeanor.

“Law enforcement officers are held to a higher standard,” Sheriff Kenney Boone stated. “We cannot tolerate the misuse of our office and will prosecute violators to the fullest extent of the law.”

Hall will be held at the Florence County Detention Center pending a bond hearing before a Florence County magistrate.
