FCSO MAKES ARREST AFTER VEHICLE PURSUIT
SUBJECT: Javonet Thomas, age 21, of 1212 Dixie Street, Florence, SC was arrested by Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on January 24, 2014 and charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Possession with Intent to Distribute Ecstasy, Possession of Marijuana, Failure to Stop for a Blue Light and No Driver’s License. NARRATIVE: Javonte Thomas was arrested by Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office following a vehicle pursuit in the early morning hours of January 24, 2014. An FCSO Deputy was attempting to make a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 52 near Interstate 95 on a vehicle similar in description to one possibly involved in two attempted armed robberies in the area earlier that evening. Instead of stopping, Thomas, the driver led deputies on a pursuit into Darlington County where Thomas, the driver of the vehicle was apprehended. In the vehicle was a quantity of Ecstasy and Marijuana. It was later determined that the vehicle was stolen from Florence County. A second occupant of the vehicle, a juvenile was released into the custody of parents.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing, and additional charges and arrests are possible.
