NIGHT CLUB SHOOTING RESULTS IN ARREST
SUBJECT: Mildred Monica Montgomery, age 27, of 115 Washington Street, Lake City, SC was arrested by Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on July 19, 2016 and charged with Attempted Murder (S.C. Code Ann. 16-3-029 ) and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-490). See FCSO Booking Website for additional information.
NARRATIVE: Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office arrested Mildred Monica Montgomery on July 19, 2016 and charged her with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime. The arrest follows an investigation into a weekend shooting at a night club located on Karisma Road near Coward, SC. According to Investigators, on or about July 17, 2016 Montgomery is alleged to have shot the victim in the chest with a handgun following a verbal and physical altercation at the club. The victim was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment of the gunshot wound. The condition of the victim is not known at this time.
Montgomery is being held at the Florence County Detention Center and will likely appear before a Florence County Magistrate for consideration of bond later today. The investigation into this matter is ongoing, and additional charges are possible.
