FCSO INVESTIGATORS ARREST TWO IN CONNECTION TO SHOOTING

SUBJECT: Joshua Dale Gainey, age 18, of 563 Cubie Road, Effingham, SC 29541was arrested by Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on July 5, 2016 and charged with three counts of Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature (S.C. Code Ann. 16-3-600(B)(1)) and four counts of Discharging a Firearm Into a Vehicle (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-440(B)). See FCSO Booking Website for additional information.

SUBJECT: Anthony Bernard Ray, age 19, of 300 Rosemount Drive, Florence, SC 29505 was arrested by Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on June 24, 2016 and charged with six counts of Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature (S.C. Code Ann. 16-3-600(B)(1)) and four counts of Discharging a Firearm Into a Vehicle (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-440(B)). See FCSO Booking Website for additional information.

NARRATIVE: Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office have arrested two in connection with a shooting incident which occurred on or about June 5, 2016 at 2351 Red Doe Road, Florence, SC. According to Investigators, Joshua Dale Gainey and Anthony Bernard Ray are charged with multiple counts of Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature and Discharging a Firearm Into a Vehicle. Gainey and Ray are alleged to have discharged firearms into multiple vehicles following an altercation at a large gathering at the location. Three victims suffered gunshot wounds resulting from this incident requiring medical treatment. Both suspects are being held at the Florence County Detention Center.

Investigators have also obtained arrest warrants for two additional suspects. Anthony Tyler Farmer, age 18, of 1326 Apartment A, Brittany Drive, Florence, SC and Jefferen Jayvon Gethers, age 18, of 2515 Minus Lane, Effingham, SC are
also wanted in connection with this incident.
