FCSO MAKES THIRD ARREST IN ALINE STREET MURDER

 

 

Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office have obtained arrest warrants for Gregory Tywone Canty, age 33, of 220 Poston Street, Hemingway, SC 29554 in connection with the December 3, 2013 murder of David Lionel Jenkins at 650 Aline Street in Florence, SC.  According to investigators, Canty is alleged to have provided transportation to and from the incident scene for Nathaniel Nesmith and Donald Roy Dollard with knowledge that they intended to enter the premises with weapons and rob the occupants.  During the robbery, Jenkins was shot and died as a result of a gunshot wound. (see December 18, 2013 Press Release).  Nesmith and Dollard were identified by an anonymous tip to law enforcement after their images, captured by on-premise video were released to local media.  

Canty is charged with Armed Robbery While Armed with a Deadly Weapon (S.C. Code Section 16-11-330(A), Murder (S.C. Code Section 16-03-10, 20) and Criminal Conspiracy (S.C. Code Section 16-17-10).  

Canty is currently in custody at the Williamsburg County Detention Center where he is charged with Robbery of a bank in Hemingway, SC.  He will be arraigned on the Florence County charges in the future.  Nesmith and Dollard remain in custody at the Florence County Detention Center.  Both have been denied bond.
