SUSPECTS FROM MANHUNT CHARGED

SUBJECT: LaQuincy Singletary, age 22, of 435 South Morris Street, Lot 6, Lake City, SC 29560 was arrested by deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on May 23. 2016 and charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol (S.C. SUBJECT: Phillip Nathan Singletary, age 27, of 23 Sherill Avenue, Kingstree, SC 29556 was arrested by deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on May 23, 2016 and charged with Failure to Stop for a Blue Light (1st offense)(S.C. Code Ann. 56-5 -750) and Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon (S.C. Code Ann. 16-23-500(A)). See FCSO Booking Website for additional information.

NARRATIVE: Two suspects apprehended by Florence County Sheriff’s Office deputies yesterday following a vehicle pursuit and manhunt have been charged. According to deputies, Phillip Nathan Singletary has been charged with Failure to Stop for a Blue Light and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Deputies allege that Singletary was driving a vehicle on U.S. Highway 52 North near Coward, SC when he refused to stop after being signaled to do so by a FCSO deputy. The suspect vehicle turned on to North Old Georgetown Road and led the deputy on a pursuit which ended on Henneghan Road. When the vehicle came to a stop Singletary and a passenger in the vehicle, LaQuincy Singletary fled on foot into a wooded area. Both suspects were located a short distance away by the FCSO K-9 Tracking Team. Both suspects are alleged to have been in possession of handguns when apprehended.

Following a bond hearing before a Florence County Magistrate earlier today, both suspects remain at the Florence County Detention Center. Bond for LaQuincy Singletary was set at $2500.00 (surety) and for Phillip Singletary at $10,000.00 (surety). The investigation into this incident is ongoing and additional charges may be possible.
