FCSO TRACKING TEAM LOCATES TWO BURGLARY SUSPECTS

SUBJECTS: Kathleen Nicole Hopkins, age 25, of 2317 Foxtrot Drive, Florence, SC 29501 was arrested by Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on March 7, 2016 and charged with Burglary, Third Degree (S.C. Code Ann. 16-11-313) and Petit Larceny, (value $2000.00 or less) (S.C. Code Ann. 16-13-030(A)). See FCSO Booking Website for additional information.

SUBJECTS: Joey Alan Norris, Jr., age 31, of 217 Rosemount Drive, Florence, SC 29505 was arrested by Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office on March 7, 2016 and charged with Burglary, Second Degree (S.C. Code Ann. 16-11-312), Petit Larceny, (value $2000.00 or less) (S.C. Code Ann. 16-13-030(A)), and Failure to Stop for Blue Light (S.C. Code Ann. 56-5-750). NARRATIVE: Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the FCSO Tracking Team arrested two suspects in connection with a burglary and theft of property in the early morning hours on March 7, 2016. According to Investigators, Patrol Deputies were dispatched to the area of Hill Road near Timmonsville, SC in reference to a suspicious vehicle which was possibly involved in the theft a 4 wheeler and other property at approximately 4:19 AM. A short time thereafter, deputies attempted to stop a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle provided by the victim. The vehicle failed to stop for the blue light and instead led deputies on a pursuit which ended on Oliver Road, after which the occupants of the suspect vehicle fled on foot into a wooded area. After quickly establishing a perimeter, FCSO Tracking Canines led deputies directly to both suspects who were taken into custody. The suspects, Kathleen Nicole Hopkins and Joey Alan Norris, Jr. were charged with Burglary and Petit Larceny.

Norris, allegedly the operator of the vehicle, was also charged with Failure to Stop for Blue Light.

Norris and Hopkins are being held at the Florence County Detention Center pending a bond hearing. The investigation of this matter is ongoing and additional charges and arrests are possible.
