12th Circuit LEN Conducts Traffic Safety Check Points

The 12th Circuit Law Enforcement Network conducted a traffic safety checkpoint on Friday, November 13, 2015 beginning at approximately 8:00 PM in Marion County. The checkpoint was located at Ariel’s Crossroads, Highway 41 at Highway 501 in Marion County. The checkpoint resulted in the following charges:

Child Restraint Violation - 1
Open Container Violation - 4
Driver’s License Violation - 1
Driving Under Suspension - 1
Vehicle License Violation - 3
Possession of Alcohol by Minor - 1
Possession of Marijuana - 5
Other Violations - 3

During the Operation, 171 vehicles were encountered. Three suspects were arrested.

The 12th Circuit Law Enforcement Network consists of all law enforcement agencies in Florence and Marion Counties, including state agencies and State Constables. 59 law enforcement officers participated in this operation.

The focus of the traffic safety checkpoints is the prevention of driving under the influence. For the fourth year in a row, the Florence County Sheriff’s Office is the host agency for LEN operations, which is sponsored through the South Carolina Department of Public Safety. Additional operations during the month of November are possible.
