FCSO RELIEF FOR JOHNSONVILLE AND LOWER FLORENCE COUNTY

The Florence County Sheriff’s Office is distributing bottled water to areas in lower Florence County. Sheriff Kenney Boone and deputies from FCSO loaded approximately 15 pallet of bottled water from its delivered location at Cornerstone Baptist Church into FCSO vehicles bound for lower Florence County. This water was donated to Florence County by Spartanburg County and Cherokee County.

“We are grateful for the support we have received from other parts of the state as we deal with our flooding here in Florence County,” Sheriff Kenney Boone stated. “As soon as we are sure all of our citizens are cared for, we hope to be able to return the favor.”

In addition, at the request of Florence County and FCSO, the South Carolina National Guard has agreed to deploy approximately 25 to 30 National Guard troops to assist in securing barricades and to control ingress and egress into flooded areas of Florence County. This assistance will allow FCSO and Florence County public safety personnel to focus on ongoing relief efforts and calls for service.
