Florence County Sheriff’s Office has been selected as a National Award Winner for its 31st Annual National Night Out 2014 (NNO) program. According to Matt A. The award criteria for the recognition includes the overall quality of the NNO program, including organizational structure, short and long term community impact, citizen involvement, successful media and promotional coverage, originality and effectiveness of local special events and related promotional materials. Other winners in the category with FCSO (100,000 to 299,000 population) include Orlando, Florida, St. Paul, Minnesota, Durham, North Carolina, Midland, Texas, Modesto, California, Greensboro, North Carolina and Plano, Texas.

National Night Out activities are coordinated by FCSO Sergeant Priscilla Zimmerman. “National Night Out celebrates the ongoing collaboration between law enforcement and Crime Watch organizations in fighting crime in our communities. We’ve always known that Sergeant Zimmerman does a great job with our Crime Watch organizations and with the annual NNO event,” Sheriff Kenney Boone stated. “And now we have the national recognition to prove it. Congratulations to Priscilla, the FCSO staff members who help her and to the community Crime Watch volunteers for making this well-deserved award a reality.”
