| School Resource Officer Program |

The School Resource Officer (SRO) program is Supervised by Lt. Vickie Bailey - Fyvie and Lt. Troy Enzor. The S.R.O. Program places a sworn deputy within high schools. The program was so successful in the pilot year 97-98 at South Florence High School that school administration and district officials requested the return of the program for 98-99. Funded through a grant, Deputies are assigned to schools throughout Florence County.
Vickie Fyvie Troy Enzor The School Resource Officer is a sworn deputy and functions as a liaison between the Sheriff's Office, the school administration, the faculty, the student body, and the community. The SRO gathers intelligence on gang activity, burglaries, juvenile crimes, etc. SRO establish community resource centers and directories, providing information on topics ranging from date rape to drugs to students, parents, etc., as well as provides information on community services available to match the student's and their family's needs. The SRO is often invited to be a guest lecturer to community groups, parent organizations, etc.. The SRO Deputy is responsible for responding to requests from the community regarding truancy, drug activity, traffic problems, burglaries, thefts, etc. The SRO is part of the Special Enforcement Division.
