The Deputies are responsible for upholding and enforcing the laws of the State of South Carolina, as well as the County of Florence. In addition, they help ensure a safe atmosphere for the residents of Florence County. The Deputies perform general law enforcement duties, including patrolling the grounds of the library, checking the property for security, apprehending and arresting suspects, questioning suspects, assisting victims, and maintaining order, among other duties. Donna Baxley, Records Manager Janine Chamberlain, UCR Manager NOTICE: Effective October 1, 2001, the Florence County Sheriff's Office Record's Division began new customer service procedures. Due to continued budget cutbacks, it has become necessary to charge for some of our services. Incident reports will cost $3.00 per copy . Complainants and/or victims will not be charged for incident report copies. Fingerprinting adults will cost $5.00 . An in-house background check will cost $5.00 with an additional $10.00 charge if the record contains more than six (6) arrests. Statistics and research base fee is $20.00 and an hourly rate of $15.00 may apply for extensive research. Freedom Of Information Act request will be required for release of certain information. Our new customer service hours will be 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. We will not release information on arrests or charges made by any agency other than the Florence County Sheriff's Office. Florence County is proud to host one of the largest and best libraries in South Carolina. The Florence County Sheriff's Office has deputies permanently assigned to the Public Library. This Unit is a valuable asset to the Public as well as the Sheriff's Office.
