In an effort to reduce the number of accidental injuries associated with firearms and in an attempt to educate the citizens of Florence County, the Sheriff's Office offers a Firearms Safety Course.  This one day training course covers the following topics:

• Firearms Purchases
• Ammunition
• Laws Concerning Carry and Use
• Fundamentals of Shooting
• Time on Our Range with Staff Instructors

This class is offered to:

• Persons 21 years of age or older
• Persons 16 years of age if accompanied by a parent

Persons must pass a background check and not have any felony charges, Criminal Domestic Violence Charges or be subject to a restraining order

Course dates listed as "Ladies Firearms" are for females only

Course dates listed as "Couples Firearms" are for husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend, etc.

• You should bring up to 50 rounds of ammunition along with one firearm
• There is no cost for this course
• Minimum of 15 people must sign up for this class to run
