The Citizen's Academy is an 8 hour block of instruction that is designed to give the citizens of Florence County a chance to see how this agency functions.  We frequently get questions about our various operations and this class allows up close and personal look at the jobs that we do.  The Academy is offered twice a year in 2 hour blocks on Tuesday nights for a month and we offer a one day Saturday class twice a year.  The topics we include are:

• Bloodhounds
• SWAT
• Criminal Investigations
• Narcotics/Vice Investigations
• Crime Scene Investigations
• Patrol
• P.A.C.E.
• Special Projects
• School Resource Officers
• Summer Camps
• Public Relations
• Corrections

We welcome anyone who is 18 years of age or older and there is no charge for the class.  On Saturday classes, lunch will be provided.

A minimum of 20 persons must sign up for this class to run.  Please see the Training Calendar for dates.
