The Florence County Sheriff's Office is one of a very few agencies in the State of South Carolina that has on staff a certified A.F.I.S. (Automated Fingerprint Identification System) computer and operator. The use of A.F.I.S. has resulted in countless hits or identifications of otherwise unknown subjects. The duties of this position include collecting, analyzing and identifying latent fingerprints.
