|FLORENCE COUNTY PACE TEAM NAMED NCEA INTERDICTION TEAM OF THE YEAR|
Florence County Sheriff’s Office Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement (PACE) unit was named the Interdiction Team of the Year for 2011 by the National Criminal Enforcement Association (NCEA) last week at its annual conference held in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is the second year in a row that FCSO’s PACE unit has received this prestigious national award.
In addition, Deputy Dane Keefe, a member of the PACE Unit was named NCEA’s Street Level Interdiction Officer of the Year for 2011. Keefe was also recognized as having the largest single seizure of crack cocaine (street level) for 2011.
“To be recognized for the second year in a row as the best interdiction team in the country by NCEA is a tremendous achievement, and speaks volumes about the professionalism of our Unit,” Sheriff Kenney Boone stated. “We know that there is often a direct link between drugs and violent crime, and that is why we aggressively dedicate resources to drug interdiction. Congratulations to PACE and Dane for their great work.”
NCEA was founded in 1999 and is recognized as the leading organization for training and networking for criminal enforcement officers in the nation with over 4500 members.
