Brady A. Johnson, age 22, of 4711 Bannockburn Road, Effingham, SC, who was previously charged with Voluntary Manslaughter in the February 19, 2010 death of Matthew H. Clayton, was further charged today with Possessing a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime (S.C. Code Section 16-23-490).   Investigators allege that Johnson, who has prior felony convictions, used a firearm to commit the violent crime of Voluntary Manslaughter. If convicted on the manslaughter charge, Johnson could face an additional 5 years in prison for use of a weapon. 

At the time of this Press Release, Johnson was being held at the Florence County Detention Center waiting a bond hearing on this latest charge.
